Drawing Setup Lisp Routines for BricsCAD 01/21/2018 This is a repost of the Blog post from Bricsys.com : https://blog.bricsys.com/drawing-setup-lisp-routines/ Welcome back! I’m hope that after reading my previous blog posts, you’ve decided to start writing some Lisp routines to help simplify your CAD work. But, if you haven’t yet, where is the best place to start? I think that the best routine to begin with is one that automates your drawing setup. If you’re like me, you probably change a bunch of settings every time you start a new drawing.

Things to consider when buying a 3D printer… 11/23/2017 What types of items are you primarily going to print? If you are creating parts where strength is desired, I would recommend printing with ABS, as this plastic tends to be stronger. When strength is not as important, one can use PLA (plant-based) plastics. The primary difference between using these materials is the temperature and requirement of a heated surface (table). ABS filament requires a higher extrusion temperature, a heated table, and often will have better results in an enclosed

VEA-Utils v17.11.13 - Function List & Details 11/22/2017 VEA-Utils v17.11.13 - VEA-Consuling.com - Details Over the years, I began to use the same functions over and over again… I started copying the same header into many of my routines. But, then I started making new and improved versions, which eventually lead to me not remembering which version was newer, etc.. My solution has been to put these standard functions into a separate file and so VEA-Utils is the result. Some of these functions are very, very old (older than the VL functions), so you

BricsCAD Lisp – Migrating from OtherCAD 11/22/2017 This is a re-post from the Bricsys Blog Site: https://blog.bricsys.com/using-lisp-today-part-3/ BricsCAD LISP versus OtherLISP If you’ve read my previous posts (part 1 and part 2), you know that BricsCAD fully supports the LISP tools that you and your company have relied upon for years (perhaps decades). Now, as you move to BricsCAD, you are ready to migrate your environment and standards. What are some of the items to consider? For the sake of this discussion, we are going to focus on LISP

Should I buy a 3D Printer? 11/08/2017 Everyone else has one by now… Maybe it’s time to get one, right? Well, let’s talk about the pros and cons to see if ownership is right for you. First, I will tell you I’ve had a 3D printer for a couple years now and I personally couldn’t live without it. OK, that’s not entirely true, but I really, really like it! Why is the printer is great for me? Because I’m a maker, modeler, designer, and a guy that just loves to fix things. During the first few months of ownership I ran around the house
